Tips on Choosing a Good Video Converter for Mac OS
There are a lot of video formats out there such as AVI, MOV, MKV, FLV, 3GP etc. Some may argue that some of them are video containers but that is not the point of this article. We will generally call them video formats for now. Thing is all these video formats each has their own advantages and adopted by different OS (Operating Systems) and Devices. But not all of them are supported by all OS and all devices. For example, AVI is introduced and used widely by Microsoft therefore Windows support it. MOV and other QuickTime formats are supported in Mac and all Apple Inc. devices. MKV (Matroska Video) is an open standard format that is not directly supported in those OS. FLV (Flash Video) is widely used on internet but not directly supported in those OS either. 3GP format is used in mobile handsets, not supported in those OS and many other portable devices.
